You’ve been there .
Heart racing. Chest tight. Mind foggy.
Out of nowhere, a wave of panic crashes over you —
and the first thought that hits is:
“What is wrong with me?”
But what if that’s the wrong question?
What if your body isn’t betraying you…
What if it’s trying to save you?
What if anxiety isn’t weakness…
What if it’s a messenger?
What if nothing’s wrong with you at all?
Most of us were never taught what anxiety really is.
We thought it meant we were “too sensitive.”
Or “too emotional.”
Or “just need to get over it.”
Let’s get something straight:
Anxiety is not your identity.
It’s a response — often from an overloaded nervous system, unprocessed pain, or even a spiritual attack (it's almost always spiritual).
It's your body saying:
"Hey, something needs attention."
And if you’ve been stuffing it down, powering through, or ignoring it…
That message only gets louder.
Let’s break it down.
When you’re anxious, you might feel:
But here’s what’s wild:
Your brain might not even know why.
That’s because your nervous system reacts faster than your logic.
It’s scanning for danger 24/7.
And when it finds something — even a memory or tone of voice — it hits the alarm.
Before your brain can even say, “Wait, we’re okay,”
your body’s already in full red-alert mode.
A “trigger” isn’t weakness.
It’s data.
It’s your nervous system lighting up like a dashboard, saying:
“Something about this moment feels like danger.”
That doesn’t mean you’re crazy.
It means there’s a place inside you that hasn’t felt safe in a long time.
And guess what?
The Lord wants to meet you there.
What if, instead of saying…
“I shouldn’t feel like this.”
“Why can’t I just be normal?”
“Nobody else struggles like this…”
You said:
“Wait a second… my body is talking. What is it trying to say?”
“Where do I feel this in my body?”
“What lie might I be believing in this moment?”
This is how healing begins.
Not through shame… but through compassionate curiosity.
You don’t have to fix it all.
But you can begin to listen.
And in listening, you’ll find that anxiety loses its power.
Because when you stop judging your emotions and start noticing them,
you stop the spiral before it starts.
Let’s not sugarcoat it:
Sometimes anxiety is physical.
Sometimes it’s emotional.
And sometimes it’s spiritual.
The enemy loves to hijack your nervous system.
To fill your body with fear and your mind with lies.
To whisper:
But the Spirit of the Lord whispers louder:
You’re not crazy. You’re not alone.
And you’re not powerless.
If you’ve been feeling anxious and wondering what’s wrong with you…
let me offer this instead:
Maybe nothing’s wrong.
Maybe something’s awakening.
Maybe something old is surfacing so that it can finally be healed.
You don’t need to have all the answers.
But you do need a safe space to start asking better questions.
"What am I feeling?"
"Where is this coming from?"
"What truth can I hold on to right now?"
This is the beginning of flipping the script.
You are not a diagnosis.
You are not a panic attack.
You are not your worst moment.
You are a beloved child of the Most High —
and He’s not afraid of your anxiety.
He’s not judging it.
He’s inviting you to bring it to Him…
and let Him walk with you back to peace.
